How we'll help you
Arranging a funeral for a loved one can feel overwhelming. Our team is here to guide you through every practical step with care and compassion, ensuring we create a unique and meaningful tribute.
Getting Started
We can meet you at one of our funeral homes in Old Town, Swindon, Rodbourne Cheney or Highworth. We can also come to your home if that's more comfortable for you. During this meeting, we'll gently walk you through the decisions that need to be made.
Decisions We'll Help You With
We'll take the time to get to know you and your loved one so we can help you create a truly personal farewell. When we meet, we'll talk through options like:
- Burial, cremation or an unattended direct cremation?
- The location: Will this be at church, a crematorium, a graveside service, or another special place?
- Type of service: Religious, civil, humanist, or something else that feels right.
- Coffin: Do you prefer something traditional, or something more modern like wicker or a colourful coffin.
- Funeral transport: Details like family cars and where the funeral will leave from.
- Music and personal touches: We'll help you find ways to reflect your loved one's personality.
- Donations and obituaries: We can help you with charitable donations or writing an obituary.
We'll also answer any other questions you have about floral tributes, a wake, or anything else on your mind. Our priority is to make this process as stress-free as possible for you and your family.

We are very honoured that many of our clients like to tell us how the service they received from us made them feel. We’d like to share some of these comments with you below.

Hilliers have been amazing from start to finish.
So compassionate and caring. From the way they took my grandad in their care from leaving the house, to the chapel of rest to the funeral.
Cannot recommend Hilliers enough.
Thank you all … read more for being so kind and caring. -

Jo and the team at Hillier's made a horrible situation bearable. We live out of county and the transportation of our loved one was seemless. All our wishes were meet without exception. Every email (and there were lots), were answered … read more immediately. We cannot fault the service we received and at a very reasonable price. Thank you to everyone involved, much gratitude from Rachel & the Driscoll Family. -

Both Hillier’s and Kingshill House come highly recommended. Having been told by long-standing members of staff at the nursing home in which my mother died, plus friends and other Swindonians, that Hillier's are the 'only' … read more firm to use, I chose them - having always been Co-op in the past. I was not disappointed. The funeral held at Kingshill House was perfect. The tasteful service room beats a cold, impersonal and soulless crematorium any day of the week, and that we had the wake there too was just right rather than having to go elsewhere. As there were no time limits nor the usual conveyor belt scenarios it gave us time to celebrate her life as we wished. People could also slip off into the chapel to say their goodbyes without fuss as it was so easy and informal. Nick was quietly efficient and so kind. Him suggesting the colourful coffin was genius and so appropriate for Mum attracting the most favourable comments, however, the picture in the catalogue does not do it justice by a long way. Despite more mourners turning up than anticipated, no panic ensued, and everything went smoothly with the staff all-but invisible throughout.
