Passed away peacefully at Great Western Hospital on 30th January 2026, aged 91 years. Jean will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Remembered fondly as a great mentor and friend. I owe much of my success in teaching to Jean, for which I am hugely grateful.
She is at last reunited with David, safe in his arms once more.
Memories of Jean go back to the 1950s and then being a bridesmaid in Wales in typically diabolical weather with half a gale blowing. In the following years she and David always visited my mother on their annual trip to Whittlesey to put flowers on David’s mother’s grave. I stayed with them earlier this century and they took me to Blenheim and various Cotswold villages. A lovely week. I repaid their many kindnesses by having them stay with me in Rome and showing them a few of the sites.
