Grandad. What can I say, still cant believe you have gone but I know you are at peace and no more suffering. The stroke stopped us going to the pub and watching the football, playing pool, getting a bit drunk and getting told off by gran but it never stopped you having a smile on your face. I’ll never forget the day me and katherine got married and you having the little hat on your head at the dinner table which showed no matter what you still had a sense of humour! I am grateful you got to see that day and to meet your great grand children who you loved so much and brought a smile to your face, they will never forget you. 17 years you fought and fought and gave me soany memories that I will never forget. For now it is goodbye but one day I will see you again for a pint in the sky. Love you always from me, Katherine, Zak & Charlie xxxxx

My Darling Roy. You were one in a million who braved your illness for many years. Always kind hearted. And giving my heart aches for you every second of the day. We had a long happy marriage plenty of laughter along the way. Miss you dreadfully rest in peace you deserve it. From your loving wife Meg xxxxxx

    Grandad,

Tough to write a few words on a page to capture how much love, fun and enjoyment you brought to those around you. I’m glad that even if only for a few years you were able to meet Emma and Eleanor and hope the last video they sent continues to put a smile on your face. Your memory lives on in those strong Davidson genes I inherited and I take comfort in the fact I’ll always be short but with a great head of hair!

We’re all sad at this time, but also happy that there is no longer any suffering and you’re looking down on us from a better place. You’ll be forever in our thoughts until we meet again. All our love xxx

    Andrew, Laura, Emma & Eleanor

Father you will be with me every time I have a latte. I will be waiting for the ohhhh and that is between you and me. Also am sure you will tell me somehow that I have missed a bit of edging when I cut your grass. You have left me with happy memories that will live on. God bless you till we meet again. Grandad I felt that I didn’t give you justice on my last message so this is for you…When Gary and I was kids we played the game BULLSEYE and you paced up and down the living room making Cow noises and pointing to your eye…From what I remember it went on for a while and we couldn’t get the answer till you told us…We also played in your back garden you can’t cross the road and they were such happy memories for me Gary and Andrew. I remember the old school fire that you always came downstairs humming da da de da da dum and wash your hair with soap in the kitchen sink and went into the living room on your hands and knees trying to dry your hair and there wasn’t much with it grandad back in the day. Know that I love always and so so proud that you’re always special to me and Trev sends his love xxxxxxx

    Dear Meg and family,

We are sorry to hear that Roy has passed on. We always found him very pleasant to get on with and we enjoyed a few drams together when we were down. You have looked after him well during the years following his stroke. We are sorry we cannot be with you on the day owing to the travel restrictions but are all thinking of you and all the family.

Rest in Peace Uncle Roy. I will forever remember that cheeky smile of yours, especially when you used to “sneak me a penny” when I came to visit. You were so proud of your family and keen to show me all your photos when we were down, and although you had no words you said it all with your eyes beaming with pride.

Lots of Love from Loraine xxx

Sorry we can’t be there to say farewell.

    Family and friends

We want to send our love to Meg, Sylvia, Linda and families on this sad day because we know how much he will be missed. Roy was a special man who still had a sense of humour long after suffering his stroke. Roy never forgot his Scottish roots and today is a day to remember all the special family of Davidsons: grandparents, aunts and uncles, past and present, far and wide. The Kintore connection will be forever strong in our hearts, full of beautiful memories, and Roy was part of that.

May our ‘Uncle’ Roy Rest in Peace.

Dear Roy, Our Christmas visit wont be the same without you sat in your chair laughing away as Ellie gets drunk on your Brandy. I personally have so many fond memories of you as a workmate . Lots of laughter and the odd argument along the way but you always had a mischievous twinkle in your eye. May you rest in peace xx.
