Maria Frances Macmillan
Born in 1938 in East Calder, Scotland, Maria passed away peacefully at home on 13th April 2026 aged 88 years. Loving mum to Jane, Barbara and Meg and grandmother to Ellie and Eva. Having trained as a teacher, Maria’s last role was teaching RE at St Joseph’s Catholic Comprehensive School in Swindon before retiring, following this with a 3 year course in Spiritual Direction with the Jesuits. Maria was an active member of the Holy Rood Church community and volunteered locally with Prospect Hospice for several years. Mum/Maria will be remembered for her love of her garden, baking and travel, her strong faith and someone who always loved a laugh and a game.
