I was deeply shocked and saddened by the news. Although I had only really begun to get to know Mac over the last few years, I quickly learned that behind his quiet and private nature was a genuinely kind, thoughtful, and highly respected colleague. As time went on, he became not only someone I worked with, but someone I was proud to call a friend.

Mac taught me so much. He was exceptionally good at what he did and was always willing to share his knowledge and experience.

I can only begin to imagine the devastation this tragedy has caused for you as a family, and I am deeply saddened by your loss and by the injuries sustained by Mac’s son. Like so many others, I am wishing him a full and speedy recovery.

I will miss Mac greatly. He leaves a huge void for all of us who had the privilege of knowing and working with him, and I can only imagine how difficult this time must be for his family and very close friends.

My thoughts and deepest condolences are with you all.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this incredibly difficult time. Rest peacefully, my friend.

It was an absolute pleasure to have known Mac for the vast majority of my career. Mac was always upbeat and kept us all smiling, even when projects were not going quite to plan. He embraced every challenge and could always lift the mood with a well timed joke.

I also valued the time spent with Mac outside of work, whether over a meal or a drink when we were staying away, taking the chance to unwind after a busy day, or sharing a bottle of wine at the Christmas party. He was always great company and someone whose company you genuinely looked forward to.

When we heard the tragic news, someone described Mac as a gentleman. That word summed him up perfectly. He treated everyone with kindness and respect and was someone people naturally enjoyed being around. Mac was a valued colleague, a good friend, and he will be greatly missed.

So saddened to hear of the news. Mac was such a kind and caring person, and it was an absolute pleasure to work with him albeit briefly. He was just brilliant. It was always great to see his smiling face in the office and have a catch up and a laugh. My thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.
