Rodney, You took me in as your saturday girl and taught me everything i needed to know to this day. You made me feel like family. We had many laughs on the weekends with clients, doing there hair, aswell as Preparing the Sunday dinners. Meals out at the indian across the road and sleepovers when i didnt want to go home. You always took me in and would do anything for me, helping me with all my problems. You had a heart of gold. I will never forget what you have done for me throughout my life, You are amazing, I love you, and will forever miss you hope your dancing up there to living la vida loca, a song we always used to dance to at the pub. Dearest Rodney will be so greatly missed. I used to model for him in the early 80s when he was at Duncans in Market Street, as soon as Rodney had finished my hair I’d go off to Wednesday night Brunel thinking I was it ! RIP Rodney Bird, God bless you x

I was lucky enough to met Rodney my friend, his Mum Margaret many years ago. Rodney it was great to meet, work and get too know you over the years.
Rodney was one of the most generous, kind hearted I have known. He was always ready and willing to help others, also a good friend to many including me. He taught me a lot, was always there too help and we had many good laughs along the way. You were much loved by those who knew you and I will always remember you.
My sincere condolences to your family who with you until you had to say goodbye. R.I.E.P Rodney.

Rodney was not only my hairdressers for over 30 years but also a dear friend
and will be sadly missed.
May you be at peace in the care of the Angels Rodney. x
It is difficult to find adequate words that can offer comfort to you Margaret having lost your much loved son Rodney or to Julia who has cared for and supported her brother over the past years. Rodney was many things to many people, son, brother, uncle, friend, mentor, tutor and so much more. Rodney will now be free of pain and I have no doubt watching over his loved ones. He has left a massive void in many lives, mine included and I shall miss him greatly.
Rodney was talented in so many ways, hairdressing, cooking, performing, tutoring, an eye for interior design along with a big and generous heart. He also had a wicked sense of humour which could lighten some dark moments. My deepest sympathy to you all. I hope your happy memories bring some comfort in the days ahead.
