Although I only met Carol through the Walking Group when I found out that her husband was Les, who passed away many years ago was a very good friend of mine. It was always good to share our memories and Carol was always a joy to be with.
In loving memory of carol Ann cook
Carol’s first walk with the Tuesday Walking Group was in Purton on 25th April 2008. The cold and the mud didn’t put Carol off and she continued to walk with us regularly until the start of her chemotherapy in late 2017. During those nine years she also joined us on several of our group holidays to Europe, particularly enjoying the trip to the Julian Alps in Slovenia. A photograph of us in front of the Golden Ibex in Kranjska Gora brings back some lovely memories. Despite all the difficulties her illness gave her she would still meet us for tea and a chat at the end of some of our local walks. She loved being outside meeting people and was a wonderful lady who made everyone feel better for meeting her.
Rest in peace my lovely friend, your battle in now over xxxx
I so enjoyed walking with you Carol. You are a lovely lovely person. Just wish I could have met up with you again.
Carol was a lovely lady, I met her on the Tuesday walks. She was always cheerful, despite all the health problems she was going through. She will be sadly missed. RIP Carol xxx
I will miss you so much Cookie. So many happy memories of holidays we have shared. Rest in peace.
In Memory of Carol who will be very much missed. So sorry that we cannot attend the funeral.
My wonderful Aunt has given me so many memories to look back on and make me smile, from our trips to Bournemouth when I was young, later to day trips via the New Forest and in adulthood to holidays in Solva. One of the kindest and loveliest people I’ve ever had the pleasure in having in my life. Raise a whiskey, get on the puffin bus and smile down on us. Love and miss you xxx
