Michael – remembering those happy days in the late 70’s, even before the Chapel ! Remembering when you brought your family to Plymouth to stay and we chased Rebecca and Joanne across Slapton Sands. Remembering you flying solo when you came to stay with us in New York and then across to San Diego and latterly Chicago with Kate as you watched my family grow up like I watched your family. History repeating itself. Marie remembers your talks on art appreciation prompting her to get more involved with her painting which she does to this day. And to think that this 50 year friendship started with me needing somewhere to stay ………Goodbye old friend and thanks for the memories.
Uncle Mike – Fond memories from my childhood, taking me out on your scooter, letters from Antarctica and stories of your travels through South America and the USA. These things have inspired me throughout my own life and you have often been in my thoughts. Thank you.
Remembering the season tickets we had when Swindon won the League Cup, the cottage we shared at Hinton Parva, the stories of Antarctica and South America and the pews – still in everyday use – you gave us when renovating The Old Chapel.
A life well lived.
Rest in Peace.
Remembering you Michael with fondness and affection; your steady and kind manner , your lovely soft Wiltshire accent, your hospitality and conversation and knowledge of art ,your laconic sense of humour ….indeed so much . And as a lifelong friend of Kate’s I really appreciate what you have given her . My love to you and Kate.
Just one fabulous Christmas memory with our darling pops xx
Geoff and I have known Michael for over forty years. Someone who gave us true friendship , taught us a lot about art and pottery and shared our love of gardens. We will miss him, a talented and kind man.
Our love and sympathy to dear Kate and his family.
Sad to hear the news that Mike had passed away. We will always remember the man of many talents. Whether it was a lead part in a dramatic production, or demonstrating his skill as an artist and photographer you could always rely on Mike for something special. The photographs of his time spent in Antarctica are still a vivid memory. He was a pretty handy golfer as well!

We were sad to hear of Mike’s passing and remember happy times at Park school working on productions. Who will forget Mike as an “angel” in the comedy “My Three
Angels” back in 1973?

Dearest Rebecca, dear Joanne and James,
We are so very sad to be writing these lines to you and are so truly sorry for the loss of your Dad ❤️.
Through Rebecca, Greg and I had the privilege of knowing your dad for the last 25+ years – both through her stories and also in person through his many visits to Vienna.
All of our group of friends here knew your dad Michael as a smart, kind, open- minded and inspiring person, who was always fun and easy to chat to.
I loved your dad and I will miss him dearly.
Dear Michael,
I am forever grateful to you for supporting your daughter Rebecca in her move to Austria, This made it possible for me to make a friend for life – my best friend Rebecca.
Thank you, Michael, for your kindness, the wonderful chats and times we spent together.. It was an honor knowing you and you will be missed by us and many others here in Vienna/Austria.
Lots of love from Andrea (with Greg and Noah)
