One of our experienced and professional funeral arrangers will spend time getting to know you and the person who has died. We will talk about their funeral wishes and your preferences to help you create a truly fitting send off.
We take care of all the planning and organisation of the funeral on your behalf. We deal with venues, ministers and celebrants. We arrange transport and coordinate all the timings to ensure the day goes ahead perfectly.
It’s the many little details that make the funeral unique to the person who has died. This might include a special coffin, an alternative hearse, their favourite flowers and music as well as reading and audiovisual or video montages.
We ensure that all the required legal and administrative paperwork is completed and complies with all the necessary regulations.
Once in our care your loved one will receive the highest standards of care. We will talk to you about dressing and embalming.
At each of our funeral homes, we have a beautiful Visiting Room where you can spend time with your loved one before the funeral.

Unique to Hillier’s is our bespoke Service and Wake rooms which you can use to host a private funeral before an unattended cremation, or prior to the committal at the crematorium or cemetery.
Our team is experienced at providing emotional support and guidance to families from the very first phone call you make to us, right through to the day of the funeral. We also offer a more formal bereavement support service to clients who need it after the funeral.
As a local family run business it’s really important to us to be part of our community and to give back. We don’t do this to tick a box like some corporate funeral directors do. We do this because we love where we live and work, and we want to contribute to making our community a better place for all for generations to come.

Having been told by long-standing members of staff at the nursing home in which my mother died, plus friends and other Swindonians, that Hillier's are the 'only' … read more firm to use, I chose them - having always been Co-op in the past. I was not disappointed. The funeral held at Kingshill House was perfect. The tasteful service room beats a cold, impersonal and soulless crematorium any day of the week, and that we had the wake there too was just right rather than having to go elsewhere. As there were no time limits nor the usual conveyor belt scenarios it gave us time to celebrate her life as we wished. People could also slip off into the chapel to say their goodbyes without fuss as it was so easy and informal. Nick was quietly efficient and so kind. Him suggesting the colourful coffin was genius and so appropriate for Mum attracting the most favourable comments, however, the picture in the catalogue does not do it justice by a long way. Despite more mourners turning up than anticipated, no panic ensued, and everything went smoothly with the staff all-but invisible throughout.
