Angela. We only met briefly. But I must say it was a pleasure knowing you. I can see your sense of humour has been passed on to Melanie. As has your live of ice cream.

I look forward to keeping you name and spirit alive until we can meet again.

R.I.P Joy. A one off that’s for sure.
You tried desperately to keep going with your beloved Ferndale. The first netball club in Swindon. Not quite the athlete you would have liked to have been BUT boy could you shoot that goal! Calling the umpires ‘empires’ will stick in our minds.
Joy. You can join the team of other great players that we have in heaven all now without pain. Remembered always. ?

    Joy,
Thank you for everything. Without you or Ferndale I wouldn’t be half the player I am today. You pushed me to achieve great things both on and off the court and I am so grateful for it all. We never had a dull day, we were always laughing and sniggering. And if we weren’t having playing netball we were having a cuppa or you was locking me in the dog cage?
Who would have known two people with such an age gap could be such great friends?
Thank you for everything you’ve helped me with and taught me. I have never met a woman quite like you. You were a diamond❤️
    Love you joy

I would also like to send my condolences to John and the family in this awful time x

I will always have very fond memories of Angela, from the many parties and sleepovers John hosted growing up to playing Netball and making us wear full kit to raise money for charity!
Angela was always fun, friendly and made me feel welcome.
She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. X
