It was an honour and privilege to be Charlie’s friend and colleague. So sorry I can’t be at the service but I’ll be thinking of you all.

    Andy Brittain

Charlie greatly enriched my life and he will be missed.
He was my squash and running partner for 10 years , golf for 25 years and has given me so many great memories .
I feel very privileged to have spent so many hours in Charlie’s company .
With all our love and condolences .

Duncan and Norma Atkinson and family

Charlie was extremely welcoming when I joined Wrag Barn Seniors just after his year as Captain. His humour and warm personality will long be remembered with great affection.

    Ian and Moira Brodie

My condolences on your sad loss, but lots of great memories of those cycling holidays in France and Charlie’s irrepressible humour

    Richard Backhouse

I have many good memories of Charlie from our marathon-running days as well as a work colleague & fellow Highworthian. He was always encouraging & unfailingly good natured. Definitely a life-enhancing man.

Charlie was a good friend, admirable work colleague and adversary in any sport, particularly on the golf course. I recall at a pub in St Mellion he bumped into Sam Torrance (a professional Scottish golfer) and challenged him to a game of pool, a victory would propel him above his peers. Always seize an opportunity that was the manner of the man. The world has lost a wonderful raconteur and a truly decent man who was loved by many, may he rest in peace.
