Farewell my friend, thanks for the great times we had together, on and off the court
It was an honour to know you ?❤️
It has been such a privilege to be the neighbour for the last thirty one years of such a talented and caring man. He will be missed so very much.
We have fond memories of our time spent with Nic, helping Amber & Ryan with their flat moves, he will be sadly missed.
Rest in Peace now and be assured, we will always be there for them both.
It was an absolute privilege to know and work with Nic. I have many happy memories that I will look back on so very fondly. His friendship and guidance will be sorely missed. Rest in peace
Please pass on our sincere condolences to Nic’s family and friends from all at Beard Construction. Nic was a great friend to the company over many years. I personally will miss our regular chats about life and the industry. He was one of life’s characters and a great man to know. He will be missed by us all.
Marc
I send my deepest condolences to Nic’s family. My relationship with Nic was as a result of working with him as a fellow professional. I always enjoyed the times we were able to just chat. He would tell me about his dreams, his desire to see his work bring benefit to other people, whilst acknowledging the obstacles that had to be overcome. His agenda was always to find solutions that would make the lives of others better. I will miss his inspiration and friendship
Nic was a truly great man to know. I have had so really good times with him over the year whether it just be going to a National Trust, trip to Cornwall for his 60th or running around Scotland! They have been great times and memories that I will hold with me forever! I will always look after your daughter like you always asked me too! I will also make sure that Jon is okay too! We will miss you. Love Ryan x
Thank you for giving me Amber. She’s the best friend you could ask for, thanks to you. We’ll keep her out of trouble xxx
Dear Amber and Jon
It is with much sadness we learnt of the death of Nic. We both have good memories of our time at Whitehorse Badminton Club and the times we partnered or played against your Nic. Always good tempered, a dry wit, interesting chats on the drive to away matches, all good times.
Please accept our love and sincere condolences at the loss of a proud and constant dad.
We worked with Nic on so many projects over the years, for us the new library was a crowning achievement. Nic worked with us to reject the original soulless concrete proposals from external architects and then instead providing the beautiful, sympathetic, environmentally conscious building that we have.
He will be very much missed, as both a friend and colleague.
You taught me so much in such a short space of time. You always made time to help me understand and never once get irritated by my silly questions. I truely wish I could have worked with you longer to make a difference to the people of Swindon and I will miss you.
An absolute privelege working with you Nic, your creativity, your wit, your understanding of what really mattered always shone through. Overall your commitment to the job was exemplary, you will be very much missed.
Someone I will never forget. Working with Nic was always a pleasure, and he never failed to make me laugh and smile. Thank you for the positive impact you had on my life. Rest In Peace.
My deepest sympathies go to Nic’s family. I have worked alongside Nic for the last 15 years and have found him to be one of the most enthusiastic, caring people I have known. He was the most practical ‘hands on’ Architect I have ever known, as well as being most the most inventive. If there was ever a way of getting over a construction problem, Nic would be the one to resolve it. I will miss how he could be in a meeting and we thought that he was just concentrating on his lap top creating a drawing or layout, when he’d been listening all the time and would interject when appropriate, the inventor of ‘multi-tasking’. He worked too hard and his work ethic was contagious. Myself and the rest of his team will sorely miss him.
Nic was such a lovely man, so full of passion and enthusiasm for a job he truly loved and also slightly mischevious. I had many kitchen conversations with Nic over a number of years! More often than not, Nic would make me laugh and he loved to talk about his children and what they were up to – he was so proud when he spoke about them. Nic was one of a kind and he will be sorely missed. Thinking of Nic’s family at this difficult time but hopefully there is some comfort in knowing how well regarded Nic was both personally and professionally.
It was a pleasure knowing you Nic, and you were always committed to providing the best that you possibly could. You’ll be sorely missed.
A caring man and loving uncle, deeply missed x
Nic adored Amber and Jon and was always so incredibly proud of them. A truly wonderful father. He will be so sorely missed. Rest in peace.
I have many happy memories of Nic and the laughs we had. I will miss our long chats in the street and his mischievous nature . Nic was one of the most kind and generous hearted people that I have known and it has been a great honor to have had him in my life .
I will miss you my dear friend
Nic was a truly wonderful man, kind and generous. He worked with myself and other library staff on the new Central Library and it was a pleasure and great fun to work with him.
He listened to what we wanted, gave us some of it but always gave us that bit extra that makes the building special.
I will really miss Nic, his sense of humour, twinkly eyes and love of life. He always spoke with such love and pride of his children, sending love to them today.
A truly inspirational man .
It was alway a pleasure to work with Nic, he had so much passion and enthusiasm for a job that he clearly loved. I will remember how he made me smile and how he talked with such love about his mum and family. Nic you will be sadly missed and remembered fondly
We didn’t know Nic very well, we met him through the virtual quizzes during lockdown. He came across as a very gentle and caring man who always won the quizzes, partnered with Amber. He will be missed by all who knew him. Rest in peace.
I only got to work with Nic recently, but the guidance and support he offered will always be remembered. His generosity and infectious enthusiasm and humour made working with Nic a pleasure. He just instilled confidence and warmth and would always help and offer support. His ability to see through all the red tape
and say what really matttered. Over lockdown many a times speaking to my children on a Teams meeting as I tried to balance work and home teaching, even then he tried to help! It was an honour to work with and know Nic and we will remember him in all we do. Rest in pease Nic.
Nic designed many houses for the Council and always had in mind who would be living in them and whether they would make happy homes. He told me he always asked himself ‘would I be happy for my mum to live in this house’ and that came across when they were built. When you walked into them, they were airy and bright and nice to be in. In those houses and in Central Library he has left a lasting legacy in Swindon. He very much cared about people and he will be missed.
He will be sadly missed
Our sincere condolences to Nic’s family, friends and colleagues.
It was a pleasure to get to know Nic over the past few years, his knowledge, passion and enthusiasm for projects and life in general was contagious – a great character. He will be missed by all.
Our sincere condolences to Nicks family. We have known Amber since she started Infants school with Catherine, and watched her grow.
We’re here for you Amber and Ryan.
All our love, Deb & Derrick Pinner
I was so sad to hear of Nics passing and am pleased to be able to pass on my sincere condolonces to all his friends and family. I worked with him for the past 15 years and I know from my regular chats with him that he was always so proud to talk about his children Jonathan and Amber and their achievements. He was not only a work colleague but my friend, what a loss to us all and I struggle to imagine such a talented replacement ever being found in our organisation. He achieved so much and was full of initiatives and ideas. It was a true pleasure to have been part of his life and that makes it all the more sad that it has been cut short. I already miss him.
It was a pleasure to know and work with you Nic
Rest in Peace
